Intubation article in Ambulance UK
An article has recently been written by a Paramedic and published in the Magazine Ambulance UK.
The Article both in terms of authorship and the decision to publish it in a journal widely read throughout the Ambulance Service is derogatory to medical colleagues and is damaging to the profession.
An article recently written in Ambulance UK by a Paramedic, Mr J Hughes from the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust has no association with your professional body "The College of Paramedics". Mr Hughes is not a member of the College and we as a professional body distance ourselves from mr Hughes and his article.
The article does not merit publication on this web site as it would be offensive to those professionals who strive extremely hard to increase the outstanding recognition and worth of our profession throughout the Health care system.
The standards expected in terms of professional expectations are clearly documented by the regulator and sadly this article would appear to fall short of those standards in a number of areas.
The College on behalf of the profession has written to the Editor of Ambulance UK to register the strongest objection to those responsible for the publication of this article.
