ECP Curriculum Framework - Consultation Document
The developpment of the Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) has
involved Ambulkance Services and particularly Paramedics from its
inception through the original proposed by JRCALC and then taken up by
the Modernisation Agency and now with Skills for Health leading the
work. The consultation document published by the department of
health has many implications for our profession in the future
development of the Emergency Care Practitioner.
Whilst the majority of ECP's have come from the Ambulance profession
the opportunity for participation in this work is quite properly open
to the wider healthcare network and includes nurse along with other
allied health professionals.
Please take some time to download and read this important document
and let us have your comments to include in the BPA rsponse to the
consultation.

The purpose of this document is to share progress that has been made on the development of a new healthcare role, and to seek comments on the proposed Competence and Curriculum Framework.
Following the consultation process, comments received will be incorporated into a final document which will inform the development of the role and educational programmes as part of whole workforce planning by health economies.

The ECP Competence and Curriculum framework consultation was launched on 23 June 2006. The consultation will close on 29 September 2006 with the final document being published and launched at an event in October 2006.
